B'nai Mitzvah Services and Tutoring

For the past six years, Madeleine has worked with b'nai mitzvah students, helping them discover their voices within Jewish tradition. She tutors students privately who wish to hold their services outside of traditional synagogue settings, as well as students at Temple Rodef Shalom and Har Sinai Temple, adapting her approach to fit each community's unique service.

In her sessions, Madeleine teaches the traditional Reform nusach for Saturday morning or afternoon Shabbat services and prepares students to chant their assigned Torah portions. She believes that prayer should speak to each student's soul, so alongside traditional melodies, she introduces modern songs that can bring deeper personal meaning to the service. Her goal is to help students feel genuinely connected to the prayers they're leading, not just prepared to perform them.

Madeleine also serves as a service leader for b'nai mitzvah ceremonies, offering musical accompaniment on guitar to create warm, meaningful worship experiences. She brings intention and care to each student's special day, helping them step into this important milestone with confidence and joy.
